“Times Square Kiss” at Pier 45

in Upcoming Events

The SS Jeremiah O’Brien and the USS Pampanito are displaying a sculptured version of the white photograph taken by Alfred Eisenstadt of a young woman being kissed by an unknown sailor in Times Square on August 14, 1945, the day Americans learned that World War II was over. For two days only,  August 6-7, you can view the sculpture, take photos and enjoy live music. The sculpture is being driven across the country from Times Square to promote public awareness of National Spirit of ’45 Day on August 14. And it’s all free.

Pier 45 at Fisherman’s Wharf (Taylor St. & Jefferson Streets), San Francisco. August 6 &  7, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
