Work has already begun to develop the infrastructure for the 34th America’s Cup, and qualifying races will be held in the SF Bay beginning in the summer of 2012. We’ll post information about the boats, racers, and best viewing spots as the event comes closer. In the meantime, here’s a link to the official America’s Cup website.

Hi, Dana: We’ll definitely be covering races in SF Bay, and we may soon start publishing race results elsewhere. Not strictly SF Waterfront, but everything that goes on is ultimately targeted in our direction — so it’s a good idea. I don’t know for a fact, but I’d bet on the fact that at least one official commemorative publication will be available, and probably zillions of the non-official kind. BTW, our San Francisco Waterfront app will soon be renamed to something like SF Waterfront & The America’s Cup.
