San Francisco Waterfront mobile app for iPhones

Want to find out why millions of Americans are excited about mobile apps? In this class, you’ll learn how to develop, launch, and market your own mobile travel application. Taught by the co-developers of the San Francisco Waterfront app, Suzie Rodriguez and Laurie McAndish King, the class covers everything from choosing a topic to strategies for increasing your app-income.

You will learn:

  • What is an app? What makes a good app? What makes an app sell?
  • How to get started: Choosing a topic, sourcing images. How much content is required, and who owns it? How long does it take to develop an app? How does the interface work? Nineteen things to do before you launch.
  • Financials: How much should you charge? How do authors get paid, and how much money can you make?
  • If you build it, will they come? The importance of marketing. Five tools for marketing your app. Eleven free ways to market your app. Fourteen things to do after you launch. Where to send press releases.
  • Collaborating: Benefits of collaborating. What makes for a good collaborator? Choosing a partner. Tools for collaborators.
  • Increase your income: Six surprising strategies.
