The best way to visit wine country is to let someone else — perhaps the Wine Country Tour Shuttle — do the driving. WCTS’s all-day tour from San Francisco to Napa Valley and back includes a ride over the Golden Gate Bridge, en route commentary and wine-tasting tips from a professional guide, a picnic lunch (select your own sandwich or salad), stops for wine tasting at four premier wineries, a look at the famed Silverado Trail, and a relaxing sunset ferry cruise back to SF.

The itinerary may vary, but WCTS stops at four award-winning wineries, so you can taste premier Cabernet Sauvignons, Cabernet Francs, and Pinot Noirs as well as reserve bruts from Napa’s best-known wineries. You’ll also stop to enjoy complimentary cheese and food samples in a European-style marketplace (which offers nearly 200 artisanal cheeses), and a picnic.

Tours leave from in front of the Ferry Building at 8:31 on weekdays and 8:16 on weekends. Wine tasting fees are an additional $5 – $10 at each winery where you choose to taste.
